Trans Supes hike II April 25-27 FIRM DATES

the trans Supes hike last november was a great success! everyone attended and completed the 47 mile trek in great spirits.
carrying on the *new* tradition of the great annual Trans Supes hikes, this one is going to shift gears a little and begin in Spring this year. We will be travelling in a large loop starting and ending at Miles trailhead- we're looking at 11-12 miles per day over some fairly rough terrain. Leaving for the hike on Friday morning and returning by Sunday evening. I suggest experienced hikers only sign up. Lets get this ball rolling!

Put in some days on the AT with MikE and myself man. Shenandoah is SICK this time of year.

Hmmm, a trip like that sounds fun but to plan something like that would probably take a few months. I'll keep it in mind.

this trip doesnt look like its going to pan out, lack of interest and a shuffle of dates isnt working. will have to do this in early April or not at all. I'll be travelling later in the month.

You mean I rolled that keg out there, all that way for nothing? I hope it keeps.

Whats to plan? Buy a plane ticket, I pick you up with your fuel needs, and we hike. Pretty simple my friend. :D

So ... is this project dead - or is it just postponed until mid-April. If It's the latter, I'm still a possibility.

I could really only do this trip on the 4th-5th of April, or at the end like Wally wants. Its not dead, but I have commitments on the 18-19-20th.

August 4th & 5th; huh......... well, I guess we could leave all the gear at home and carry just water; cooking our eggs on the blistering heat of the rocks. And the night-time low of 105 should preclude the need for a blanket. ;-) ;-)

Schedule the rescue, you might get a discount. Might wanna do a couple test runs with the hammock in the oven first.

For a minute I thought Mike had lost his mind. Then I was hoping he meant October or November.

End of April is kinda the hot end of season, but on the upside, the dates work well (for me), and a warm hike is better than no hike.
I was thinking on something around Reavis Ranch in mid-April (16-18), but I'll defer to this plan.

end of April looks like a warm trip, yes. But not hot, if you consider the lowest elevation we will hike is around the Angel Basin area with expected (read: normal) temps around 80 on those dates. Of course, there could be a weird heat wave like the one back in November, which had all 11 of us sweating b***s in the direct sun w/ a 93-95 high. That was about 20° above normal, if I remember correctly.
so normal temps should be quite pleasant, as we will be up and out of Angel Basin by 9am or so and working our way up Frog Tanks towards Plow Saddle. Second night near Two Bar/Reavis Gap intersection should be pleasant, about a 70° for a high up there. Then again it may be unusually cool as April can be quite breezy. I think Im going to hike the 3 day loop even if I have to go myself. anyone else still game?
*edit: I just wanted to add that im not going to be back out in the Supes after this hike, so Im going to go out with a bang. Then, its on to the Mazatzals where I have about 6,574 miles of trails to hike.

I tain't skeered.
Any three days after April 15th (but I gotta know the dates by Friday).
I'm behind on the guidebook, and must hit the dirt with a vengeance now...

If we're talking April 25,26 & 27 I'm still game. Then after we pin down some dates we'll work on a time & place. ;-)

I'll see if I can get the day off. We can adjust our altitude to the temps, but if it gets to 100 we'll have to pick another hike
