Were they those corduroy OP shorts?
You know it!

Found my old cross country team picture recently. It was very disturbing just how tight and how short men wore clothing back then. Let's just say you could tell who was right handed and who was left handed.

Worked out of my home in CA the last 5 years before I retired day dreaming about retiring in AZ. Last name is Rea pronounced Ray, so when I moved here ... Sun Ray made sense to me.

Started out as a dorky hiker wearing a desert camo boonie style hat. Now i'm just a dorky hiker that doesn't really wear it anymore, but I still got it.

Back when I chose my name HAZ did not support עִבְרִית or ويكيبيديا العربية so I opted for this moniker. Al is the definitive article in ويكيبيديا العربية it basically means “the”. It is common in many ويكيبيديا العربية names to denote the place a person is from or the occupation of a person. “hikesaz” is where I am from so it was a natural fit. And I respected Joe enough not to use any cuss words like اليقطين
or דלעת or naayízí or тыква
[edit] that is funny - HAZ automatically translated what I wrote into the acceptable equivalent on HAZ. Now you will never know what I really wrote :sl: [/end edit]

Either that or my name is Al. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq-gYOrU8bA and I hike AZ.

The name I chose was Kingsnake, after the Doors' "Crawlin' Kingsnake" song on the "L.A. Woman" album. I flirted with a few other aliases, for a few days here and there in the first few months, but have been Kingsnake for 27 years since, eventually carrying it over to FidoNet and eventually the interwebs.
Okay, so you are about 9 years younger than I am, which means you were only about 7 when I saw Jim Morrison and the Doors live in concert...and you would have been about 9 when he died???

I'm late to the party as usual but thought I'd add to this hilarious thread.

Despite today being a passionately loyal Sun Devil, neilends was the official username given to me by the University of Arizona when I was a freshman there in 1990. It was auto-generated because my last initial is S and my first full name is very long and from an exotic country, so it got cut off at "Neilend..."

Nothing fancy. My first name is Gary, my last name is Crockett, and I'll let you guess what year I was born. ;)
