I'm ready - and I got permits. Six, to be exact - so I need five more participants to make this a "go." In the Canyon on Nov. 5, out on Nov. 8.

So here is the plan:

Thursday: Drive to the canyon and get a good night's sleep.
Friday: South Kaibab trail 7.5 miles to the Bright Angel Campground (4,800' down)
Saturday: Hang out at Bright Angel Campground, recover, or likely dayhike around the area.
Sunday: Bright Angel Trail to Indian Gardens Campground - 4.5 miles (1,400' up) - day trip out to Plateau Point for sunset
Monday: Bright Angel Trail to the rim - 4.5 miles (3,400' up)

We will return on Monday afternoon.

Anyone want to come with?

Definitely, Max. It was a pleasure meeting you, too. Did our group pic turn out?

Cindy, I have a great shot of the whole gang, plus a couple of others. If you want to PM me with an email address, I'd be happy to send along a full size file of whatever I've got!

Oh oh...that's the first sign that you're hooked! :D

This is definitely prime time for overnights though. I'd been thinking of doing one down the New Hance trail, camping by the river and hiking out via Grandview. Gotta see how hard it might be to get a walk in permit.

That New Hance to Grandview is a nice hike. Better as a two-nighter, but a stronger hiker could definitely pull it off as an overnighter. That stretch of Tonto is gorgeous, too.

YEs this was a fabulous trip. It was great to see CindyL again, meeting John and his sense of humor and Sue, as she past me on the trails. Thanks to everyone for a great trip!!! I am ready to go back, when the weather gets warmer. It sure was a cold day yesterday!
