Should I even bother mentioning they're, their, and there?

It's vs its?

Your, you're?

How about "for all intensive purposes"?

Somebody on here has mentioned "lightening" before

Which ones get under your skin?

I don't understand the question, "Can my dog make it?" in regards to an invite to a hike I've just described.

First of all, you should know better than dogless-me whether your whatever-sized canine can make it or not. 2nd, I've supplied you the photos and description requiring a drop into steep canyons and floating and swimming creek sections. I'm not sure at this point if you are asking if I think your dog can inflate a tube full enough or if I believe it'll be fine as long as it lands on its feet near the bottom.

My response to "Is it a kid friendly hike?" still gets the easier answer:
"It is, but I'm not."

pet peeves in general

The only thing worse than a public mistake is a public correction. The PM feature is generally a good avenue.

full disclosure: no saint here, just hopefully better than years past

How do you comfort a Grammar Nazi?

You give them a hug while patting them on the back and say "There, They're, Their"

That's amusing to read just for the very creative examples! I will probably stick with "who" most of the time...

I'm sure there are a lot of people who would be happy to get struck by lightening, but only if it still has the "e" in it.

I can never remember, is there an apostrophe in "gets", or not?
