Terrapin Trail

I am planning on going to the east side of Weavers Needle tomorrow on Terrapin trail and was wondering if what sort of trail to expect to encounter. I will start and finish at Peralta Trailhead, I will probably just go in and back but might go around the full loop. does anyone know how wide these trails are? I am just curious becuase I hate to have to bushwhack or crawl through vegetation with all the snakes out, especially if this is a little-used trail. Any info appreciated.
Thanks -

It's good trail all the way through. There is one faint section as you approach Terrapin Saddle. But definitely no bushwackin'. I'd still keep my eyes on the trail!
I highly recommend the loop!

I've got to agree with Joe. I like the Terrapin trail. It's not very wide but easy enough to follow. There's the ruins of a small rock dam along it, about a mile from where it meets the Peralta I think. Hmmm, I need to get out and hit it again.

Unfortunately my plans for today had to be postponed.
Fortunately there's always next week.

Did the Peralta today (to the saddle). First time in eastern part of the Sups (only other hike was Siphon Draw to Flatiron). Good day for hiking and not too many people on the trail at 8. Coming down at 11 I passed about two dozen others including 5 large dogs, most of which seemed out of shape and thirsty.
I'm hoping to do an overnighter along the ridgleine trail one of these days. Anyone done this?

I've hiked the ridgeline trail twice and there's a several other's on this site who've hiked it. I've never overnighted on it but that would be a nice way to go. Hit it soon before it starts heating up. You need to carry all of your water.

I have done an overnighter on the ridgeline of Peralta trail, on the summit. It was awesome, spent two nights there in fact. the first night was under a full moon and the whole area was lit up, it was just beautiful. I had to run down the trail to pick up more water for the second night :-)

Does anyone know if there is a way to get to flatiron (and the ridgeline) from a point further north and east of siphon draw? I would like to get up to the flatiron fromt the east, possibly through old west boulder canyon. Has anyone ever hiked in there before?

It can be done from the east. Sidhayes has done it.

I just finished the terrapin loop around the needle. That was one tough hike though, Most of the trail was good but there was nearly 3 miles from bluff spring trail to the dutchman trail that was seriously overgrown. It was the next best [sic] thing to bushwacking. I made it through though without seeing a single snake. Almost made it through without seeing any other hikers too, but some crazy folks came ambling up peralta as I was going down at about 12:30, made me think about mad dogs and englishmen (or is that gringos)
