Does anyone know about the road leading up to the trailhead? Do you need an AWD or high clearance?

@MeredithJW
listed as
FR / Jeep Road - Car possible when dry
Which seems about right as the road travels well because it's so flat. Keep in mind it's a long road with no services for a long ways. While a car may have enough clearance I'd sleep better being out that far with better multi-ply tires than cars typically have.

I've done it in a standard clearance vehicle w/standard tires, although it's been a few years (road conditions can change). It was doable, as long as I took it slow and placed my wheels properly in the rough spots.

@joebartels Any tips on locating the trailhead? An article I read made getting there seem pretty tricky.

The directions are listed on the hike description page and if you select "alternate routes" there are GPS routes posted for the drive to the trailhead.
