Starting Southbound Oct 10- Water?

I am looking at getting dropped off at the Utah border on October 9 or 10.

Water is scarce on the Kaibab plateau. How scarce? I am not sure I'll have an opportunity to cache any water before starting.

at one spot at the junction of segments 43 and 42 on Winter rd.

I talked to the backcountry office today and they told me there should be no problem getting through the Canyon.

Even stay an extra night down there. So that is what I hope to do.

Getting maps ready today. the maps available to AZT members are really good quality.

@Trew According to the AZT guidebook, the most reliable water on the Kaibab is going to be at Jacob Lake Inn and Kaibab Lodge. All the other sources are a crapshoot.

I haven't confirmed them but the wildlife wateres are likely pretty reliable. I believe they are listed on the ATA website.

From my experience, anything on the water report with a 2 or better will have water. Enjoy your hike!

unfortunate, the area has lots or roads crossing the trails to easily cache
