Never been to Horton Creek. Is the road dirt or paved? Any clue if the road to the trailhead would be plowed? Thanks

The driving directions are found on the hike description page: [ Horton Creek Trail #285 ]
The road is paved. The road was also plowed on Sunday morning after the snowfall Saturday night, but generally would melt within a couple of days of a fresh snowfall anyway. I believe the road plowing is handled by the folks who reside at the Tonto Fish Hatchery at the end of the road.

Thank you very much! I’ve seen you do lots of hikes in the Mogollon Rim area. Gut call do you think that area might have some snow left? Or is the real snow on top of the rim?

It melts pretty quickly at that elevation. I wouldn’t expect there to be anything but some random patches in the shade near the trailhead. The spring is about 1000 feet higher and you should find some more consistent snow cover for at least a few more days there. But getting above 7000 feet and into pine forest is your best bet.
