Any insider knowledge for 43-39 in April

I have the opportunity to be in Kanab April 14-20, 2018 and thought I could do Utah border to North Rim that week. Alas, SR67 will likely still be closed and I wondering how to get in/out without doubling back all the way to Jacob's Lake. I also don't want my ride getting in trouble. Does anyone know if an off-road vehicle could drop/pick me up? Any exits to a forest service road? I'm now thinking of going NOBO so I'm not stuck there. Any thoughts?
