nf-71 to Picture Mountain

I assume the crossing of Tonto Creek should be fine considering how dry it has been. After that does the road require 4x4? Or would a high clearance 2wd truck be ok? Thank you.

Mine from 2 years ago when it was wetter. 2wd HC is fine for the entire road to Picture then Copper Mountain.

If the road stays dry any 2WD pickup should have no issues. On Thursday 4/19/18 Tonto Creek crossing was completely dry and driving conditions of both FR 71 & FR 609 between Punkin Center & Picture Mountain were the best I've ever seen. (Recently graded)
FYI, to reach Picture Mountain you will only drive about 6 miles on FR 71, then turn left onto FR 609 and follow it another 5 miles.
NOTE: A few miles
past Picture Mountain the conditions of FR 609 deteriorates the farther east you drive.
