Problems with Transport back to Sierra Vista

My son will be finishing for now on Arizona Trail in Payson. We thought he would rent a car to get back to where he started. We need to rent for him and that cannot be done. So the question is: What are other options for getting that transportation from a place on the trail back to ones car? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Gary

What is the time frame? Is he in Payson now, waiting on a ride? If not, when does he expect he'll arrive there?
