Mount Union Loop

When I look in the hike dex, I see a lot of random trails, but no defined loop hikes. Todd recently posted a nice loop he did, but I realize I don't want to hike the north half. or might not want to. Trail write ups are nice, but what is really nice is a hike description with different trails and order of hike named. The Prescott NF does not seem to have a map on HAZ the way we have for the Pinals on the Tonto.

What is a nice loop that might be about 10 to 12 miles, summiting mt union, and be in and around that area. Thanks.

Zoom into an area of interest and click the hamburger/options menu.
Next under "Select Routes in View" click "official"

This will display all the mapped trails in that area for you.

You may also select "all" instead of "official" and it will show all the routes posted to haz in that area. But beware that some of the routes may include non-trail sections, either road walking, or off-trail bushwhacking to connect from one trail to another.

Peter Medal has hiked a bunch out there and likes off-trail hikes. So his tracks may not be on trails.

Joe and Bruce have made a bunch of loops too, so their tracks show up a lot. Clicking on the posted track gives you the option to read the associated triplog. Bruce is very good at posting a description of a loop, segment by segment, in his triplogs, so you can decide if it's a route you would like to follow.

If a track is posted by hikebot, be aware that the route might only exist on a map, rather than in reality.

@jim_h Post your loop when you are done please, to help future hikers in the area. Thanks.

Well, if or when I ever go there. See the fire thread.
