Arizona Trail - AWARDS and recognition

I think we need to have a topic for fellow HAZers that get awards via the Arizona National Scenic Trail.
At the Feb 2019 ATA Annual Meeting (celebrating the 25th of this event); a few HAZers got Volunteer Awards for 2018 including:
Roger Smith @scatdaddy
and Sandy Fortner @sandyfortner
and Donovan Wood @TheMazzicMan
(the Mazzie trio)
In 2018, for 2017 Richard @mazatzal got a Volunteer Award.
I don't remember if there were other HAZers that got Volunteer Awards but it would be nice to have them mentioned in this thread. Roger was instrumental in re-vitalizing two springs: Chilson and Hopi I think it was. He is a steward for AZT #23a (Mt Peeley).
Donovan is also up in the Mazzies and had quite a work event with goats and such. He is also a steward on Mazzies section AZT #23c North Peak.
Sandy is here and there volunteering at work events and she tries to take care of people who post on the AZT forum here. This year she is also a co-steward on the Mazzies section AZT #23b Mazatzal Peak.
And of course, our own Shawn Redfield @sredfield is the Trail Director (a full-time volunteer) since 2011 and a 2015 American Trails Award winner and 2016 Cox Conserves Award winner. He has also finished the Arizona Trail back in 2010 I think.
Wendy Lotze @writelots is now the full-time Volunteer Coordinator for the AZT.
Ambika Balasubramaniyan @desertgirl is an elected board member.
What these people do for the betterment of this trail is a worthy cause and legacy. Anytime you want to come on board, please check out https://aztrail.org/. There are lots of great projects coming up per the Annual Report which is a great read: https://aztrail.org/wp-content/uploads/ ... Report.pdf (it's under the "The ATA" menu and "Annual Reports and Strategic Plan" and includes the 2019 Priority Projects.)
Thank you,
Angela
