Who is Teva Joe?

The man, the mystery...
I probably should have left this topic for bryan but hey, I got here first. (he's probably still at the bar harrasing the waitress

)
It ocurred to us that none of us have actually met the man behind the site. In fact, several rumors have surfaced. Some say he doesn't even exist and there are those who say he's been hiding in a cave in Afganistan for the past 13 years, my personal favorite though; he's been holed up in Australia learning aboriginal knot tying techniques.
Of course when Billy showed up and said she had actually hiked with the mythical 'Joe' we couldn't believe it.
The truth is out there...

I missed Billy? grrrr By how much? 5 minutes????
Is Joe kind of like "Where's waldo?"
We had the same discussion at the opposite end of the table, so where is he???
Maybe we have to turn the map upside down and it will decode where he is?
Synchronize all our GPS systems and set the course?
Hmm, I think I had one too many beers tonight at 4 peaks!
Goodnight Gracie,

You are too funny
He's a special guy, I'll tell you that much.
Sorry I missed you Sheri, I was sitting at the bar for the longest time. It's hard to look for people, when you don't really know what they look like  I came in just before 9pm; better luck next time I suppose.

In response to GeorgAZ's reply:This was our whole point last night...he "replied to (you)"...but wasn't at the chili bash. No question he (we assume it is a "he" anyway) exists - at all times of the day and night on this site - but, the question still remains, Who is Teva Joe?

I'm sure that was the hopeful point of the chili bash last summer, but to no avail! We have to think of something better!!O Teva of the Canyons! Give us a sign!!

Was I harassing the waitress? I thought she was harassing me.
Oh well.
Who ever Joe is - he has built a very handy tool here with the site. And I bet he already knows all the Aboriginal Knots.

Huh? I'm confused. Are you talking about Teva the webmaster? Are there two Teva Joes?
Sorry... I'm new to this group.

No need to apologise - we're all confused!
Joe is Teva - Teva is Joe?
Welcome to the group.

In response to Teva Joe' reply:
Question Joe: You obviously have the best photos of the hikes. I recently started hikes but use a minolta regular camera. You use a digital. I love your photo quality. What kind of camera do you use? I will have to learb how to hook up a digital to my computer so I can share photos. Any advice you can give will be muchly appreciated.
Thanks, Roger Dickey

Hey Rodger, Teva Joe just hooks his eyes up to his computer and the images of his last hike just appear, he is a far more advanced human then any of us. It all started a few years back when Joe was on his first hike in Northern Arizona when a large spinning saucer like aircraft shot down a beam of light capturing Joe. He was held in the craft for what must have seemed like an eternity. The aliens subjected him to many different tests, before placing him back on Earth. These tests affected Joe in positive and negative ways. The positive ways are that of superhuman abilities, being able to hike day after day and take pictures with his eyes for example. There are also negative effects, for now Joe hikes all of Arizona reporting his findings and "eye-pictures" to this site so maybe someone will find that spaceship that took him aboard so many years ago.
He has a house in area 51 with Mr Snuphalopagus

Isn't this Joe guy the "Seven of Hearts" on the Iraqi most wanted deck of cards???
I should be able to either confirm or deny the existence of said person - Teva, Joe, Teva Joe, webmaster, chili cookoff no show guy, after the "woods canyon" hike. I will attempt to photograph the elusive Teva as photo evidence that he does exist.
Wish me luck.

O.K. O.K. I have to comment. I believe there has to be a Joe! But I do not believe in Bigfoot. Yes! I have never seen a Bigfoot in the wilds. Well,,,, one time in the early seventies a friend and I thought we may have seen its tracks in the old snow high in the Bradshaws. But that is besides the point:
I know theres got to be a Joe. Has to be! Travels in the computer somehow. I turned in a summary recently and boom! He is communicating with me. Oh ya. With me, on the computer, about my summaries I was getting ready to post. I did not questioned it, or wondered about it, or even marvelled about it. But we worked on it through-out the day into the late evening. Who is Joe? Who cares, I just know he is there when I need the help on the site and that is a big help to me. I can barely operate the computer anyhow.

This Saturday I hiked (read:crawled) down Woods Canyon in search of the elusive Teva Joe. Accompanying me were fellow HAZ'ers Arizonaheat and Cactus Cat.
The hunt began when I was rattled out of my sleeping bag at 5:45 AM by sounds rustling outside my tent. We started the trip into the canyon on our quest. The three of us went for miles following Teva tracks. No luck. We passed thru all the features listed in the Woods Canyon description from HikeArizona.com I felt we were close, but was beginning to doubt Teva Joe's existence afterall. Then, all of a sudden, I heard a rumbling in the bushes. I grabbed my camera, but was disappointed to find that it was only a lost cow. Drat! We pressed on. There were miles of boulders and rocks. We lost track of the TEVA footprints. I was certain our chances of seeing the elusive Teva Joe were fading. The day wore on without any signs of Joe. I was getting pretty tired near the end of the trip, having all but given up. Then, right in front of me, Joe popped out of the tree line. I had to rub my eyes to believe it myself. I slung off my pack and grabbed my camera from within, and it spooked the wild creature. He began to dart off. Clearly this beast was in his element. As quickly as he appeared, he disappeared. He sprung accross the boulders like a lemur. I was only able to get this one quick photograph of him off before he vanished. (perhaps forever) Some people doubt that Joe is even real. But, I am here to tell you what I witnessed. He does exist. Him, Aliens, and Bigfoot! No really!
If the photo doesnt convince you-----I will tell you that when I went to sign out on the register at the trailhead. There were two HikeArizona.com pens located within. Coincidence???? I think not. He is up there my friends. Believe me.

The mystery is solved!! Great job! Not only are you a good photographer to capture Teva Joe in the Wild under those circumstances, but your description reads like a novel!
Thanks for sharing, we can all rest easy now!
