Camping this weekend or next week

I'm looking for a nice, secluded camping spot preferrably with water and decently easy access for this coming weekend 10/18. I'm thinking maybe a 3 night camping trip, just myself and my dog. Any recommendations? I injured my shoulder recently, otherwise I'd be looking for a place to backpack into. But I need to get away for a few days!!!

If it is, just fyi.. the elevation of this campground is ~5500ft
(the general area further up/off of this Hwy 288 should be good for Autumn colors into next week and after)

@joebartels
Do you think this would be a good place for a weekend camping? I'm going alone and my car doesn't have 4-wheel drive. I just need to get away for a few days. Been spending too much time in front of a computer recently.

Camp near Willow Springs Lake and hike the trail around Willow Springs and nearby Woods Canyon. If time permits visit See Canyon.

@Ampaz Coming from the south the road Is nearly pavement all the way to the campground. Might be 1-2 short stretches of dirt road. I drove through a couple weekends ago and saw sedans driving the road

No need for 4x4... any part of Young Highway (AZ 288) that isn't paved is hard-packed dirt/gravel so a car is fine.
If I recall correctly the campground is within a hundred yards of the highway.
While there are a number of other camping spots nearby (like Honey Creek Divide) most are right next to the highway so you may eat some the dust from traffic, Rose Creek is secluded just enough that won't be an issue.

@Ampaz Try lower West Clear Creek Trail #17 Bullpen access. Hike upstream as far as you like. Creek side camps, waterfalls, trout, easy access no need 4X4, and lots of triplogs to help you out. Dog will love it. Probably 10 degrees warmer than above the rim destinations this weekend.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I think I'll try Rose Creek since it seems to be the only spot I can drive to without having to hike in. I did see a google review post dated yesterday that said the campground is "becoming littered with human waste and toilet paper"

So I guess fingers crossed I can find a spot not too bad. I'll let you all know how it goes! (Don't come out and murder me, lol)

that's the one. may have deer hunters around. but they're good folk, usually. not there to blast Rap till midnight and not there to introduce screaming kids to the misery of camping.
there's only 5 sites. pack it in, pack it out. have a blast! it's a pretty spot.
