Bobcat Attack at Mt Graham Campground

Don't remember this from Aug but really sad as entire group of 15 had to visit the ER I think 4 times for the 2 week rabies treatment. ( vaccine )
Sounds like rural ER's don't see many people for rabies treatment so a total of 3 different ER's and travel by the family were involved.
Wasn't there another rabid bobcat attack near Prescott not too long ago where the gal put the kitty in her trunk?

Some more info (warning gruesome blood photo)

I seem to remember the Prescott issue several years ago but thought it was a fox? Perhaps I am thinking of a different incident.

I'm wondering why all 15 people had to be treated? It's not like the flu. It's generally transmitted through the bloodstream as I understand it, so unless everyone was bitten, clawed, had open wounds, or perhaps chewing on the bobcat, then treatment would be unnecessary (again, from what I know about it).

My asshole cat would easily bite 15 people and that's just him trying to play.

@Mountain_Rat Because...
liability? It clearly states that only 5 were attacked, but...
After conferring with the Health Department, it was determined that all 15 at the campsite were required to receive the rabies treatment, as it is untreatable once symptoms start, and is almost always fatal at that point.

@chumley
Glad I wasn't in Graham county that day, they'd probably be hitting me up too.

@Mountain_Rat
I might speculate that with 5 directly injured, the other 10 family members assisted in their post-attack care, possibly coming in contact with blood in the process... ?

Something about the feral cat he rescued from the Gilbert Riparian Preserve not being the best pet.
