Government lawyer named as new Grand Canyon park leader

A veteran lawyer for the U.S. Interior Department, Edward Keable has been appointed as the new superintendent of Grand Canyon National Park. He has 30 years as a federal attorney.
Don't know how well this selection will bode for the hiking world, but most anything is an improvement over the last two.

As best as I can gather, he handled FOIA appeals...on the surface it seems strange that they'd give the job to a career bureaucrat who has no park field experience...but perhaps he'll do a great job

my thoughts exactly. So the question is what did he do to get demoted or sent to sit in the corner. Or is he on the way out and needed a cushy job for a year or 2 before retiring?
