Favorite HAZ Sub-Region?

What is your favorite sub-region* for Arizona as they appear on HikeArizona?
If you don't know what I'm talking about: when you look at a hike or a photo set that hike should be subcategorized into a sub region of Arizona. For example Mazatzal Peak is in the Payson sub-region. Piestewa Peak is in the Phoenix sub-region. Harquahala is in the desert Southwest sub-region.
My personal favorite sub-region is the desert Southwest. Even though it can be lethal for a good 1/3rd of the year, and rather unpleasant to be in for half, it's where I find some of the most interesting mountains and ranges of the state to be. This doesn't mean I don't enjoy other sub-regions it's just that the desert Southwest seems to be my favorite.
* Top of page > Find > Filter > Pick a Region by Map (button upper center) > Tap a Region > Select Sub-Region
- All States have regions, only AZ has sub-regions, only AZ is mapped and selectable in Find

For me it dependent on the time of the year and the time of day. Overlooking the Canyon of West Clear Creek near Bull Pen when the leaves change in the canyon, the aroma of the air is pleasant to inhale. Listening to the canyon sigh in late Summer of See Canyon that is the transition of late afternoon and early evening. Out overnight in the desert during the early part of the year and your sense of awe gazing at the night sky. Up on a sky island and watching a monsoon storm envelope the valley below.

It would be the Tucson sub-region for me. It includes the entire SE part of the state, so it is a lot more than just Tucson proper. There are a lot of great hikes in the sub-region, and the area offers lots of diversity in hikes. Plus you can find something good in the sub-region year-round.

By my accumulated use, it would have to be Globe, followed by Tucson.

It’s definitely a choice between Buckeye SW and Casa Grande SW for sure.

@azlaurie
I think your favorite sub area for backpacking is Camp Verde or Payson, since that is basically the Rim Region where you have frequently gone.

Black River from Bear Creek to Wildcat Crossing, Alpine Region I think. (I'm not going to bother with looking for the subregion. Not something I pay attention to.) I call it the Black River Wade, because you cross the river about every 10 minutes. Also anywhere in Grand Canyon that is not the Corridor. But am hoping to bust out and start doing stuff around Tucson again. It's been a very long time...

Yet you post in a thread about it. Curious. I don't care if people want to talk about their favorite place, or trail, or location, or activity, but there is a strange irony to people openly stating they don't care about a thread's stated topic and then chiming in anyway. Especially, since Joe literally added maps of those sub regions to the original post.

At this point a tie between Tucson and the Southwest. Next Northwest and Globe. A few years ago that order would be reversed.

It is seasonal dependent. In the summer I like the Payson region. In the winter I like Globe

You don't. I'm just trying to keep everyone off my favorite trails
