Parts of the Gila are temporarily closed for unauthorized cattle removal

If anyone is planning on going to the Gila:
SILVER CITY - The Gila National Forest has temporarily closed an area that includes portions of the wilderness, Glenwood and Silver City ranger districts for operations to remove unauthorized and unbranded cattle from the forest.

I misread read this. I now see that it's closed so that unauthorized cattle may be removed. I initially interpreted it as a period in which they would turn a blind eye to rustling.

This also reminded me that the infamous Power family came to the Galiuros from that part of New Mexico after being suspected of having built up their herd by rustling.
