It wasn't posted for open discussion on the website, because posting something as a comment to a random log is basically hiding it. Most people simply are not reading random logs or spending all day slowly and methodically digesting every comment which gets posted. If it was in the forum, that would be different, and that was why James posted it here.
It is sad, but a little strange the individual fell that way. I suspect he went for a picture of the city and tripped and fell.

It is also odd that it apparently occurred after midnight. How many people are up on Flatiron running around after midnight?

My understanding is they were camping and he got out of his sleeping bag to take a selfie using the lights of Phoenix as the backdrop.
