Historically speaking, a forest order from the Coronado is comical and doesn't align with reality on the ground.
But in my dream world it would be nice to see the agency manage the land use rather than going from 100% freeforallshyteshowdestruction to 100% closed. I recognize that's a lot to ask.
A forest order closing this area is an admission of the inability to effectively manage land use. Pretty pathetic.

Just remember take the "N" or national out of the initials and you have how this branch usually functions.

@chumley
Why is it closed?
edit: Never mind not the Bear Wallow I care about apparently.

Considering the closure is only for vehicles, camping, and campfires, and only lasts through summer, this doesn't seem like a huge deal. They may want to clarify whether "vehicles" include mountain bikes, and they probably should come to terms with the fact that there are only so many places for people to camp on Mount Lemmon, so if they close Bear Wallow it'll just mean some other area gets more overused.
