“If the recalled AT2 Boots are laced loosely or untied, unlaced at the ankle support of the boot, not laced through the eyelet, or the lace hooks are left unlaced, etc., it is unlikely but possible that the lace hook on the inside of one boot can catch on a loose cable on the inside of the other boot, posing a tripping and/or fall hazard and risk of injury to the consumer,” wrote Salewa in the recall notice. That happened to me once with some other boots long ago. It was quite a shock at the time. Sort of like falling down on your bike because the toe clips are stuck.

Same thing happened to me several years ago in a pair of Salomon X Ultras (can’t remember if they were the 2 or 3) but they were properly laced and tied. Didn’t get hurt, but it was a hard fall.

Same here. I think the standard reflex is to shoot a leg forward to stop your fall, but you can't because your feet are tied together. Hopefully you turned sideways and didn't endanger your wrists.

#greatness doesn’t happen when you fall, but from how quickly you get up again! It’s obvious this is part of their marketing strategy!
