Hello, I am planning to backpack with a small group on the weekend of Nov 18-20 @ Aylors Caballo Camp (or nearby area). This camp is close to the intersection of the Dutchman trail and the Bull Pass trail. I would appreciate it if anyone can give me an update on springs or pools of water at any of 'wash next to Aylors Caballo Camp', Charlebois spring, Labarge spring, White Rock spring or anywhere in Boulder canyon/Little Boulder canyon in the vicinity of this camp. Thanks in advance, John P.

Charleboi/La Barge definitely have water, although they're a bit of a distance. White Rock spring likely does not. The closest likely water source that's fairly nearby would be near the junction of Dutchman and Peralta, just North of it. There is a series of slick rock that holds water for quite some time after rain events and I'd be willing to bet it has a bunch in it right now. If you were to rely on that and hit the unlikely scenario there's no water there, continue on Dutchman and about a quarter mile south of where it hits the Eastern side of Bull Pass, there's also usually pools of water this time of year. Bust there, just head to Charleboi.

Thank you for the insight on the most likely places to find water in the area. I would like to know if you have been to any of these sources within the last 3 weeks, or the information is based on your historical experience in this area around this time of year?

Charlebois/La Barge, yes, but they always have water so my experience doesn't really matter much. The others are just based on experience.

There is an advanced HAZ map search filter to show recent water reports. None were filed directly for the area of your itinerary but several people report water in the creeks in the general western Supes area following the last rainstorm maybe 2 weeks ago. Even if it is drying out I wouldn't be surprised if you still run across a trickle to some pools in the upper Calvary trail area.

Thank you for the additional information on water sources. I am hopeful that we get some rain in the area this Wed, but I don't expect very much accumulation.

There is often a pool in Needle Canyon a short walk up from Boulder Canyon. Needle is also a meandering way to avoid going up-and-over Bull Pass and is pretty in its lower section.
