There’s really nothing quite like a good crap in the woods… You’re not staring at your phone while playing a game, or reading the back of the shampoo bottle to pass the time. There’s just leaning against a tree and taking the sights, sounds, and smells of nature! Well, now you won’t have to lean against hard, rough tree to take that nature poo, as someone has invented this ingenious strap. It’s called the Crap Strap, or Krapp Strapp as so they’ve named it.

I guess it's for people who can't squat.

That's the first thing I thought of. Never occurred to me that people lean against trees.

@azbackpackr Did anybody ever teach you the way to go, or did you just figure it out on your own? Would it be surprising that somebody else came up with another way?
I, myself, am a break-dancer!

What if there's no tree around?
Find two rocks that you can place under the heal of each boot. Now drip your pants & squat. The rocks under each heal give you the support to remain upright. Drop your load, wipe, pull up your pants, not cover the crap with dirt then return to the trail & keep moving on.
Yes, you have to be able to squat & the stand up from that squat position.
Yes, I learned this technique from reading Cody Lundin's book, 98.6º The Art of Keeping your pumpkin Alive

What I wonder more is how often you can dig a good hole that close to a tree. That's where the roots are, and often rocks wherever the roots aren't.

My mom taught me how to dig a cat hole and squat over it when I was 4 years old. I do remember it. We used to drive out on dirt roads to hike and have picnics. When I said it hadn't occurred to me about a tree, it's true. I don't go watching what people are doing when they poo in the boonies.

Also, when I have seen discussions about those female devices, I always have found it a little puzzling, but I had to figure most people didn't have a mom like mine.

Okay so I guess there are people who are otherwise healthy who are out hiking, but they aren't able to squat. This never occurred to me but, I can see where it could be a real problem!

Speaking for myself, my knees have gone to heck and what once was a no brainer has turned into a pita. Myself, ideally leaning against a fallen tree trunk.

Yeah, a fallen tree trunk is different. At least some of it will be clear of the roots. On the other hand, it's probably crawling with ants.

Ants in my pants? I'm more concerned about the possible rattler.

By the time you've dropped your drawers any nearby buzz worm will have headed in the opposite direction as fast as it can crawl.

A former employer of mine is still teased by her family because she actually did squat over a rattlesnake. She shrieked and jumped up, and waddled away with her pants around her ankles. They have never let her forget it!

Also mentioned in that link is the “Poop Knife”, touted as “dishwasher safe”. That is NOT going in my dishwasher, lol.
