Hi all! I noticed the "Bighorn Closure" marking on this hike. Are there any trails/parts of this hike that would be affected by the bighorn closure?

@chumley
Hi chumley ... I'm very familiar with the order and what it says, that's why I was confused seeing the "Bighorn closure" tab on the hike description... because as far as I can tell, none of those trails making up this hike are affected by the closure. But now I noticed that Catalina State Park to Lemmon's hike description shows it as well, so now I'm thinking it's just showing to denote that if you are off-trail you are in the affected area, not that the hike as described is. Am I right in that assumption?

Absolutely fair game. Most of it is AZT section 11, and seeing peak traffic right about now. Stay within 400 ft of the trails and you're legal.

@azdesertfather I believe that HAZ populates the bighorn closure notice on any hike description that is indicated to be in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness. It gives potential hikers the link to the official information so that they can be informed and decide if their route (based on time of year) is ok.
