Does anyone know of a place here in town to rent a kayak?
I know you used to be able to at REI, but, i am not sure if they still do that.

I think REI still rents kayaks. You may be able to rent them at tempe town lake too (but you have to use it there).
They don't say it on their web site, but canyons and coastlines may rent them also.

Me and a group from work kayak the salt river about once a week. I posted it last week here, I'll start posting it every week if anyone is interested.
Anyone is welcome to join us and we'll provide all the instruction you need, getting started is pretty easy.
