I've sampled some of these areas but this guy does pretty much the main part of the Lonesome miner forgotten trail system. Long video but great footage. I believe he either owns and or is caretaker of Cerro Gordo.

It's a stunning area little visited.

Very nice video of the ming district. Good use of the drone for some great shots.

Hi Letty,

I remember seeing your original post, and then I forgot to view it. Now I did!

It's a pretty special 4WD loop trip to include a stop at the Historic Cerro Gordo Ghost Town. Back in the Summer of YR2000, me and 3 other vehicles did this one as a two-day loop trip which I will always cherish the grand memories of. Back in the summer of YR2000, there was a full-time proprietor there who took us on the interesting Cerro Gordo Ghost Town tour.. After which, we headed north up the Cerro Gordo Rd to camp our first night at this interesting high point [ image ] with views over to Mt. Whitney :)

Oh that's fun. Brent is an acquaintance and is as sincere a guy as you get. He is the majority owner of the town and mine (he did have other people "invest" so he's not the full owner but it's a friends/family thing). Definitely a cool area to check out; the road up can be particularly fun if there is any weather.
