Looks like there is a fire on Catherine as well as lower Shake Tree Canyon several miles east. There have been decent rains in the last few weeks hopefully that prevents it from burning too hot.

@david_allen_3 Do you mean the Deer Fire and Y Bar Fire? Or something newer?

Idk just saw a blip about it on the local news and some aerial shots. Where is the Deer Fire? I guess that could be it.. Y bar fire is probably the one in Shake Tree Canyon? Or is the Deer Fire in Shake Tree Canyon?

There have been half a dozen fires in the Mazzies in the past two weeks. I don't believe any of them have been particularly notable.

Y Bar is burning near Shake Tree Canyon, Deer Fire is burning north of Mazatzal Peak near Deer Creek on the AZT, Sheep Fire burning north of there near Goat Camp Canyon. Davenport Fire was burning just northwest of the Deer Fire, but has since but put out. All are smaller in size, just a ton of lightning strikes in the area past couple of weeks.

Isn't Deer Creek south of Mazatzal Peak?

Y Bar was hot with flames visible from Beeline on Sunday.
