I'm looking over older MapSource maps and I'm finding references such as Bixler Tank and Bixler Saddle.

I'm just wondering what Tank and Saddle are referring to in terms of their geographical significance.

Thanks.

A tank is a water hole. Sometimes man made, sometimes natural. Now-a-days usually dry.

A saddle is the area between peaks on a mountain range and often times looks like a saddle.

And never confuse a Saddle with a Draw, or a Pass or a Whaleback.

My favorites are degrees of flowing water: River, stream, creek, spring, seep, weep, wet spot and dampness, did I miss any?
