I'm going to West Clear Creek and was wondering if you can hike down cash tank with out being a hardened rock climber. Can you exit at Rim tank with out being a rock climber. Are there any exit points past Rim Tank.

There is a path from the end of the road past Cash Tank to the bottom of the canyon. Park under the tree and head west, it's somewhere out there. If you go south a bit you can get into the drainage, and follow it down to the creek too. Both routes are scrambling in places, but no climbing is involved. I've been there a number of times, and it's one of my favorite places. The road out there is very rough, and you'll need a high clearance vehicle, and a 4 wheel drive with a low rance is helpful for crawling over some of the rocks...
I've heard of a route near the powerlines, which might be the Rim Tank access you asked about. I haven't explored that access point yet... Also, if you go in at Cash Tank, and out at Rim Tank (going upstream), there is a small waterfall that might be a bit of a challenge to get around. I've been past it twice going downstream, but haven't tried the other direction yet...
Have fun! Hank

Cash Tank to Rim Tank is too far for a day hike. Most people entering
at Cash Tank would exit at the Hanging Gardens, which you can't miss.
There is no rock climbing required. If you park under the power lines
and hike to Cash tank, you just hike east to your truck from the exit.
If you enter at Rim Tank, there is a 30ft drop off which is easy to get
down with a fixed rope, but don't trust existing rope. To climb out
without a fixed rope you should be a 5.6 rock climber. From the Rim
tank entry, go upstream to the tough waterfall then return the same way
