I backpacked it 3 weeks ago from the trail head to Seven Springs with a shuttle back to the trailhed. The trails are well defined and marked with signs at all the intersections. If you follow trail 4 up through Chalk Canyon to the mesa there are many ruins and petroglyphs along the edge of the mesa overlooking Cave Creek. Our trip was a little more adventurous because we decided to bushwhack down the mesa in a wash and along the creek for a couple of miles. There was plenty of water in the creek with some great views but very difficult going. Some of us couldn't wait to leave the creek and hook up with the trail again

. We found a beautiful spot to camp about 5 miles from Seven Springs. The hike out provided some very picturesque views. The Cave Creek ranger station has some good maps and information for the trail system. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I haven't done that one yet

. I hope to do it in early spring. My wife and I did do the Peavine Trail created under the Rail-To-Trail program. Very easy and runs along the backside of Watson lake. This is a good one for walking, jogging or biking.
