Have done some great hiking throughout the US. New in AZ, looking for retired people doing AZ hiking. My sweety loves a little hiking, but loves the Hilton better. Thank you.

In response to lind2116's reply:
Welcome to HAZ, There are wonderful area parks here in Phoenix, if you want to get your feet wet, just pick up a bleartooth map of Phoenix Area Mountain Parks, when you decide where you want to go, give a holler at least a day ahead of time, and give it a go.:) The other wilderness areas and trails out of the city require a bit more time to organize, so also try 3-mailing a few on the buddy list or HAZ match for potential hiking partners in the difficulty class you want. Or start a group at a favorite hiking spot on a partciular day of the week, and see how many people will show up.

Whereabouts are you in AZ? I think most of the retired hikers we have here on the site are up north, but I could be wrong about that...

There are several organized groups of older hikers in the superstitions, I see them out there with their matching gear at least every other month. I don't have any idea who they are, but they wouldn't be hard to find. Like overrocked said, get the beartooth maps of the areas your in, they're probably the best fold-out map on the market. (TOPO AZ if your looking to go digital)

There are also a couple other hiking oriented sites particular to arizona that you might want to check out. HAZ gets more traffic than the other ones, but there are some people that post on the other ones and not here.
If you don't find what your looking for here you can also try http://www.arizonahikers.com (sorry joe). I know there are a lot of group hikes planned or being planned over at AZH
