I just realized that none of the hiking trails in Red Rock State Park are listed on HAZ. Has anyone hiked these trails and can anyone offer any feedback.

Rob,
I've hiked up in that area and it's nice. The views of Cathedral Rock are amazing although I prefer the climb & view from Templeton to this. Most of these trails are pretty easy and quite short except for Eagles Nest which is a more moderate trail and about 3 miles long.

that area is ok if you enjoy the views of a city below. plus none of us long time arizonans speak kindly about the red rock pass.
check out Sycamore Canyon, and then compare notes. have fun!

Red Rock Pass is not honored in the park, right? I try to hike daily (down from 425 lbs so far!) so I'm looking for new trails close to home.
I am newer to Arizona. I'm used to hiking in cool shaded ponderosa and cedar forests where the sun rarely shines through except at noon. I am very photosensitive (the curse of the wolf), so the more trees the better. I have to hike late in the afternoon/early evening, where I have about four hours to do so, so I'd like to be close to water and close to home, if I can walk to the trailhead, even better.
I live in VOC so I thought there might be park access via trail on the south eastern border of the park. I know this is a strange thing to say, but I am getting board with the same old Sedona trails.
Yeah, I know, I'm a freak,

Rob,
There's nothing wrong with RR State Park....the trails there are nice and the hikin' is pretty mild with some great views.
If you're getting bored with the "same ole' same ole'" hikes in Sedona, why not think about doing some in the Flagstaff area? It's a higher elevation but there are some nice trails up there....Kachina Trail, Abineau Bear Jaw......etc.....This is the time to get up there as it is much cooler.
