I read about Woods Canyon in Arizona Highways magazine. My brother in law and sister in law are staying in Sedona for a week next spring and are looking for a hike in the area. Can anyone tell me where the trail head is? And how to get there from "downtown Sedona". Also is it possible to do a day hike in Woods Canyon? Thanks in advance!

In response to prescottlover's reply:

The trail head is somewhat easy to find.
From Sedona head south on Highway 179 to just past mile marker 305. There will be a small dirt lot just east of the road with a gate about 50 ft from the road, go though the gate and there should be plenty of space to park there.

Here is the trail description for that trailhead.

I was there in March and the creek/river was running pretty fast then with the snow melt.
Nice Hike.

Thanks for the info! I'm hoping to do this one myself, just as soon as I can move out there!
