Need Info on sedona hikes

I am taking some friends that are visiting from back east hiking in sedona this weeknd and not being to farmiliar with the area was wondering what would be a moderate but good hike. Looking for something with great views. Any help would be appreicated.

What kind of "good views" are you looking for? I might be able to recommend a few things.

I am looking for more landscape views where you can overlook a good part of sedona in general. nothing down below with alot of tree cover. from what i ahve been researching catherdral rock and or bear mountain both look pretty good. not sure how difficult they are.

I'd say that Brin's Mesa & Wilson Mtn. offer some terrific views.
If you're in to EASY, try the Airport Loop/Table Top Trails #211/212.

Soldiers Pass-Brins Mesa Loop would be a good bet....Broken Arrow is nice too but lots of Jeep Tours up there.
Cathedral Rock is short and sweet with a good climb and nice views but not a trail to do if you're seeking solitude.
I'm sure no matter what trail you pick, you're friends from back East will be blown away by the scenery.

In response to blair1129's reply: You might consider hiking down the Munds trail built by the Munds family in the late 1800's for moving cattle from the rim into the Verde Valley. You can spot the trail easily from the top of Schenebly Hill road and it offers unbelievable,fantastic views of the Sedona, the rim and some great views of Mingus Mountain and Jerome. As added bonus, if you manage to hitch a ride to the top, which is always easy to do, it will be a downhill hike all the way..or you could always park at the top, hike down and then hitch back up.

If you want the best views in sedona head up bear mountain. Not an easy hike but on a clear day the views are to die for

Sorry it took me so long, but in response to what you want in a hike, yes you are correct Cathedral and Bear Mtn will give you the overlooking views that you are wanting.
If you would like to experience the landscape up close I would recommend exploring the canyons. Boynton and Fay Canyon are both very enjoyable and easily accessible. You will have to deal with sometimes obnoxious tourists in both but just go 1 mile down the trail and they're gone. Fay Canyon has a natural arch about .75 miles into it on the right. Boynton Canyon has an uncountable number of Indian Ruins that are very intact and very inspiring.
