Which is the most user-friendly way into Charlebois Springs? I'm trying to plan a group backpacking trip to the area and don't want to make it extremely hard on people's knees and bushwack the entire time.

Thanks,

hi winnie

From First Water Trailhead would be the flat option I'd choose. Then again I don't backpack so what do I know! If you choose a shuttle option I'd start at FW and follow the Dutchman all the way through.

From Peralta via Bluff Spring is the shortest but it's a rollercoaster.

From Peralta via Dutchman is has the one major ascent near Miners Needle and the route isn't real clear in one section of La Barge.

From Canyon Lake Trailhead starts getting on the long side.

From Tortilla Trailhead involves serious catclaw and 4x4 access.
