We are looking for a good place to go hiking and to ride our quads. We prefer there be water but don't really need to have it. We are new to Arizona and need help finding a good place to go. We don't want to travel more than 3 hours. We live in the Southeast valley in Queen Creek Az. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions we would be very grateful.. thanks!

There are lots of 4X4 roads and quad trails in Florence off the Pinal-Pioneer highway (Rte 79) Not much in the way of hiking trails though.

The Desert Well Off highway vehicle area between Apache Juction and Florence Jct. is nearby. You will need a state land permit. Another area is the Mineral mtn. area South East of Florence Jct. mostly BLM managed lands.

you can camp in the queen valley area. There is lots of trails up there and usually water in queen creek. Plus you can take the road all the way to the top . I think it's 5,000ft. Might see some snow.

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your help. You gave us a few ideas that we plan on trying. We went down to the Four Peaks area and really liked it but plan on exploring other places as well. Thanks for the tips!

Where in the four peaks area did you go? If you went to the Rolls this time you should do Sycamore creek next time. (if sycamore then vice-versa) If you were out on the Roosevelt side you should try checking out the Workmans creek or Cherry creek area.
