I'm not in the market at the moment, but may be in future, so I just want some general info about this brand of tent. Are you selling it because you have bought a newer model? I'm just wondering why you'd sell it.

I recently bought a fully enclosed solo tent, the BA Sarvis eVent. It was on sale, I got a deal, and have used it on several bp trips. It is very nice, but I might like to also have an ultralight shelter. I have a bivy sack--thought about just getting a tarp to pitch over it.

I can vouch for the great condition, mike babies his gear. A great shelter.

YES, Elizabeth I did replace it. Owning the new Contrail I dont really have a need for the Virga. Its hard to get the specs from tarptent since its a 2004 model, but their Virga 2 is very close dimension-wise.
I was actually looking at the Cloudburst for 2, and the contrail was sorta an impulse buy. :o

Hey Mike you got the contrail, that thing looks pretty cool. I can vouch as well that Mike does take care of his gear. I have 3 pieces of it.

ha! thats right Tim, you do. How is that Cricket holding up? Still a pretty good tent for the $. Im glad to see you still use those 3 things.
Yeah the Contrail is a sure upgrade to the Virga 2. Its wider, has a standard bathtub floor, and weighs 5 ounces less. I also like that full mesh door up front. Thing is tho, honestly wont use the T.T. much cause Im into tentless "meadow crashing" when the weather co-operates. Which is about 80% of the year here in AZ. Gotta love it!

I have a Cloudburst, which I love, but if were going to buy today, I would go for the Double Rainbow.

Well I haven't used the Cricket in a while, last used was Yuma point last year. Had 40+ MPH winds and I was the only person not having to physically hold up there poles so the tent would stay upright. Only one with a dry tent in the morning too. Poles did get some nice bends in them from the wind though.

But with a Black Diamond Lighthouse (my baby), a MSR Hubba Hubba, and the Big Agnes Sarvis SL1+ don't think the cricket will get much use unless I'm outfiting a small army.

Now that Pocket Rocket on the other hand. Love that thing, people think I have it modified to burn hotter since it boils faster than anyone elses. You have something to do with that?

I believe that I may have seen Mike with that stove on "backcountry tuners", installing larger jets and mixing a concoction of av fuel/butane & propane...... (Tim; you wouldn't know anything about some missing av fuel; would you?)
