there is talk circulating about having a year end blowout group hike in the Superstition wilderness. Everyone interested, start throwing in dates if you want also feel free to chime in about particular hikes you have in mind.
I can do any day other that Xmas and I'll be on vacation starting the 22nd.
I'm game for a longer loop, about the 15 mile range.
Get in here!

I'm planning a hike to Reavis Ranch from the north in mid to late March. I would like to do it in one day if possible but would prefer an overnighter with some company. At that time there should be enough water at the creek to not need to carry extra water. I would also like to do the extra half mile by the Frog Tanks trail to do that extra portion of the trails out there. I'm very close to having hiked all the maintained trails in the Supes and this is one trail that is a bigger challenge in terms of getting done as a day hike.

In response to mikeinFHAZ's reply:Yo - I don't post much, but I peek in every now and then to see what's happening on this board. Right now I have plans on backpack the Sups S-to-N Dec 27-29 with my 2 dogs and a friend, probably from Peralta to First Water via Dutchman's then Boulder Canyon with a bit of exploring tossed in along the way and water refills at Charlibois and 2nd Water springs. However, tonight it is 40 degrees in my Ahwatukee backyard at 8:30pm. Brrrr... Guess I'll play it by ear and watch the weather next week.
If I bail on the backpacking, I'd love to join you all for a day romp in the Sups!!

sorry folks, I forgot to mention this trip will most likely be an overnighter.

looking into the Hikers Guide, 2 routes have sparked some interest. First, starting at the bridge and using Fish Creek canyon to access Angel Basin, Second starting at Tortilla t.h. and going through Trap Canyon to Labarge spring. I do not know if there is reliable water near Angel basin, but might be pools in Fish creek. Both routes require some off-trail scrambling.

The confluence of Fish Creek and Rogers Canyon will have water. I have never seen it dry in all the times that I have passed by there. Downstream from this point is a large pool that you have to climb around and it has always been full or nearly full.

If you guys do the Fish Creek to Angel Basin I'll probably go

That would be a lot of fun I'd think.

In response to mikeinFHAZ's reply:
Mike,, as this took awhile to come together & ascertain dates, I went ahead and planned other outings.
I am committed to Picketpost tomorrow (Sat.) & Pass Mtn. on Monday, plans with a friend tomorrow evening into Sunday & a New Year's Eve engagement thrown in for good measure. I hiked today, as well. Whew..
I regretably will be unable to join you guys on this one.
There will AT LEAST be water in the lower section of Upper Fish & then again just prior to its junction with Frog Tanks Tr. & Rogers' Cyn.
Happy New Year! and Go Suns!
