Peralta Road Public Notice Sign

I noticed on the drive in today that there was a public notice sign posted on Peralta road right where it turns to dirt. I meant to read it on the way back out, but it was dark and I forgot.
Anyone have the scoop? Hopefully they aren't closing it to build more subdivisions to house old folks who can't drive...I mean...retirees.

I spoke with some folks from the forest service (mesa rangers) and they said they would be paving the road soon (all the way out to the TH). They won't be closing it. The road to the trailhead is a public road, so no matter how much the people from the developments want to close it, the FS sounded pretty confident they would never be able to. The bad news about paving the road was that it will make the trailhead "improved" which means that they will start requiring a fee to park there again...
I'm not sure if that's what your sign said, but that's the latest news I've heard about the area.

Gee, what do you suppose inspired them to pave the road?

I hate it when they pave roads! They are paving 273 from Sunrise to Big Lake.
The first time I went to British Columbia in 1969 most of the highways were gravel. When I went back 5 years later a lot of them had been paved. Took a lot of the fun and adventure out of traveling there.

Could also have been something to do with the huss over putting sub-divisions in the area. Something about it in the paper...
Shame they're paving the road. Think they'll pave it to the QCU Ranch also?

It is about an zoning application to increase the allowable density.
We wouldn't want TOO much space between those tile roofs, now WOULD we?
