This hike is described in the 100 Classic Hikes in AZ book as a loop (sort of) 9 miles long and 1837' elevation climb. Its really about 3 different trails (King Canyon, Hugh Norris and Esperanza) and is in Saguaro National Park by Tucson. I think if I leave Phx early enough (6am at the latest), I should be at the high point of the hike before noon so during the heat of the day I'll be walking downhill. I can fit 3 comfortably into my car and cram in a 4th, if necessary. I'd like to try this before the hot weather makes it too difficult. Anyone interested?

Been there done that. So what I say is, don't miss the many petroglyphs in King Canyon! They are all along where it boxes in, and around this waterfall thing (which is probably dry.) There are quite a few of them to see.

My wife is working now on May 20, so I have to change this one to May 13. No seems interested anyway, but just in case.

I'm interested but I try not to sign up too early in case plans change. I was thinking that I had my daughter on May 13th but I just checked the calendar and that's Mothers Day so she'll be with her mom. So I'm in as long as that's not an issue on your end.

I'm ok to hike on Mother's Day. I got a special dispensation since my wife made me move it from the 20th.
