Grand Canyon S. Bass Trail Oct.

I have a permit to hike the South Bass trail Oct 24-28, Wed-Sun. 4WD needed to get to trailhead, although carpool opportunities MAY exist by then. I have 3 slots open. If you want to go you need to be in good shape, doing lots of steep hiking every week, and be at least a moderately experienced backpacker. I have not done this trail before, but am told it's actually easier than Hermit, for a comparison. However it is quite remote.
The basic hike is 16 miles round trip. Cost is $21 per person. Plus you'll share $25 per vehicle cost of crossing short section of Havasupai Reservation with the others you ride with. Camp first night at trailhead campsite on rim. Nights 2 & 3 at river. Night 4 to be decided by group, but I favor leaving 1 gallon water each on the Esplanade and camping there, for a different view.
On layover days, dayhiking to Shinumo Rapids and along West Tonto Trail. Or you can sit and relax by the river if you want to, try some flyfishing (AZ fishing license needed), read a book, whatever!
If you're interested please PM me. To hold your place I do require the payment up front. No refunds if you cancel, unless we fill your spot, as the Park Service does not give refunds.
