Fay Canyon Tragedy

I heard on the radio this afternoon that a hiker fell about 70 ft in Fay Canyon, and was pronounced dead when DPS finally reached him, via helicopter. Apparently 2 people witnessed the fall, but were unable to reach the hiker.
I hate to hear about this sort of thing happening to anybody, but I hope it was nobody that we know.

Sad to hear anytime something like this happens.

How tragic.
I live immediately west of Squaw Peak and hear and see the helicopters flying around the mountain all the time. Even the most experienced hikers can have accidents and it just goes to show you that these types of things don't discriminate.
