HIstory Of Flight: 20 January 1945 This B-25 was on a routine navigation training flight from Kelly Field, Texas, to Tucson. At 13 miles east of Tucson, the pilot, Major Lorin Geil, requested permission to make a visual approach, which was granted. Five minutes later, the aircraft crashed into a canyon in the Rincon Mountains. Weather conditions at the time included snow squalls and clouds that obscured the mountains.
