if you havent got a hike set in stone for this weekend the 29 & 30th of December, you can join us (nonot and I) starting at Peralta taking the Bluff Spring and Terrapin trails (terrapin rocks, btw) over to the area in E. Boulder Canyon that was one of the sites of Ed Piper's camps. Of course, little remains of what camp ol Mr. Piper had erected back in the day, the 1950s to be sure, but there is a spot near the Peralta/Dutchman intersection where we will set up camp. First day is 6.2 miles, and add a bit to that for exploring.
Then on Sunday we will hike the Peralta trail south to Fremont saddle, over to the Pinyon tree and off to the Cave Trail for about an 8 mile hike back to the trucks. Of course, the lunch menu at Tres Banderas will be calling. Get in here, trail orphans!
