I've been wanting to do this one for a while to pretty much complete my list of major hikes/trails in the Superstitions. It's the day before President's Day, so anyone who is lucky enough to have that off \:D/ can sleep in the next day instead of going to work sore  I'll do it as a dayhike, so an early start (5:30-6 am) will be necessary.

I'm going to keep this mind. I'm planning my 2nd Annual "Fish the Crap Out of the Colorado River" trip at Rider Canyon for sometime around that date, so I can't commit right now. If we get more rain and snow, I'll probably go.

I will be interested esp if there is more rain and it is flowing. Anyone interested in overnighting it?

I'm bumping this up since we're within one week and its moving down the list. We've got plenty of snow and rain, so the falls should be flowing nicely. This really should be a great hike. Anyone in? 5:30am departure from Mesa. Last call for Reavis Falls....

Let me bounce this idea off my wife (since I was gone all weekend this past weekend). But, I think I will be able to make it!

I'm IN! Where are we meeting? At the trail head...or does someone want to carpool? I can drive, with room for 4 people plus myself...if we want to fill the back seat of my 4Runner up.

Let me know what you're doing so we know if we need to wait for you sunday morning. The Lost Dutchman marathon is that day also, so we need to be past that by 7:45am. The falls should be flowing very well. Looks like my waterproof boots should come in (kinda) handy.

Idaho will be closed at 5am from Superstition rd past Prospector park as well as Lost Dutchman rd from Idaho on to the dirt Geronimo. Hwy 60 will be restricted from Mt. View to Peralta trailhead during most of the morning. My husband is running in the 1/2 marathon. So there will be lots of traffic in that area.

Thanks for the info. I called the "hotline" number on their website and asked about road closures, tellling them what we're planning and when we'll be rolling thru. the guy I talked to said we should be all clear at 6am taking Idaho to AZ88. He also sounded like he wanted to do the hike when I told him where we're going. I'm hoping 88 just past Tortilla flat will be ok at the creek crossing since we just that rain in friday.
