Peak 3004 Goldfields

Last two times I've been out have been to the Western Goldfields near Peak 3004, was interesting in trying to summit it which looks impossible from the north side but might be doable from the south. Anyone summited it before? Even though its not as high as nearby Pass Mountain I want to try it because its looks so rugged from the north. I might be headed out there before too soon to give it a try, any info would be appreciated.

Assuming this is the first peak directly east of pass mountain, a scramble to the top from the pass mountain saddle on the east side of pass mountain (southwest side of the peak) didn't look too daunting.

Looking at satellite starting from the saddle isn't a good idea. Looks better to start from the 2150 mark south or the 2400 mark on the north might work.

It isnt the very first peak east of Pass Mountain right by the saddle. It is a few peaks east nearer to Bulldog Saddle than it is to the Pass Mountain Trail saddle. I was trying to decide to either go straight up from the South or hike up to Bulldog saddle and around the peak and head up from the west. From what I was looking at during the Peak 3004 loop and my last time on the Pass Mountain trail it doesnt look very doable coming from the east and impossible coming from the north.

Which ever peak... that whole little range looks negotiable with a little effort. Peak 3004 as shown on topo shows a worst case scenario average grade of 30%. That's a tad more than Camelback.

Thanks! Was gonna head up tomorrow, but this rained convinced me to head out and check the flowing creeks of the superstitions so peak 3004 will have to wait a week or two. haha

sventre was kind enough to upload this route
http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?GPS=901
(also helped solve some TOPO! upload issues along with editing of notes)
at which point I then realized

Roger has a loop summary on site
http://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=1253
Granted the recent rains have likely pushed it back again this seems like good info!
if that's not your 3004 you might throw out some coordinates

That is Peak 3004 I am talking about but this loop circles around the peak, not to the summit, its a nice hike though.
