California - LA camping....

I'm headed out to LA in about 2 weeks and the four of us going wanted to camp...we usually stay at Leo Carrillo SP, but it is booked solid until mid Sept...

can anyone offer camping suggestions in or as near to the LA area as possible...

we'll do campgrounds or dispersed camping....


Catalina is not an option..

any help would be appreciated...

Saw on the news last night that Phx is down 4.25 inches of rainfall for 2001/2002 and LA is down 7.(something)

Just camp in the getto!
That's quite alright, if there is any place I would never do that in or just hang out for a good time, that would have to be LA. I'd rather live in NYC. :wink:
