Just wanted to point out that in today's Az. Daily Sun there's a front page article about Grand Falls and how some visitors are treating the area rudely and disrespecting local residents. Just a heads up and a reminder (though I'm sure most folks on here don't need it) to visit respectfully.

"Most of the people are like these people and they come out here and enjoy it with respect," he said.

But some don't. Since Spring Break, the Tsos have had their livestock tanks shot at and damaged. People on all-terrain vehicles have torn down fences, taken down no trespassing signs and have ridden onto private property.

One group trespassed to pick up folks kayaking in the soupy, brown water down from the falls, Cecil said.

"That shows they have no respect," Cecil said, adding that he called the tribal police, but the officer recommended he and other residents of the area put up signs.
Some of the morons may hike on occasion but it sounds more like full fledged morons.

That's too bad. I've noticed many other places getting trashed over the years, but at least I got to see some of them before they got too bad. I haven't been to Grand Falls yet, and I hope it's not too far gone before I get there. I also hope it doesn't become necessary to limit access.

Just to have some balanced "reporting", I was there a week ago and saw nothing I'd call "moron elements". Although I was staggered by the number of visitors, everyone enjoyed the sights, left no trace, and conducted themselves in a totally civilized manner. I can't recollect even seeing one item of garbage on the ground! :) :) :)

It will be a shame if drastic changes have to be implemented just because of a few thoughtless people...

Seemed like more of a report on crossing boundaries than garbage. Can't say I've seen anybody shoot up all the back country signs either but the evidence is overwhelming. Difference here being they can't raise everybody's taxes so the morons can play. They'll simply close the area.

Too bad you can't shoot rednecks who shoot at everything that happens to be within the vicinity of their pick-em-up truck, kind of like self-defense by proxy.

Technically, you can. You should take time to assure that you're the better shot though. ;-)
