If you could hike anywhere without restrictions (including restrictions in your lifestyle) where would you hike now?

&

Where do you see yourself hiking ten years from now?

1..Me to hike anywhere now as a personal goal without restrictions: Mt. Rainer and all the 14K+' peaks in Colorado;
2..Me hiking ten years from now (due to various restrictions): I will be happy to have the same endurance/activity level as now;

EDIT at 5/23/08: After one night of sleeping on my above reply to #1, I decided that I was just dreaming again about a time when I was in my early 30's. Actually, for now my answer to #1 should be: To be visiting and hiking in "Glacier National Park" today instead of having to wait until the end of June'08 to be there. I feel very lucky to have this long awaited dream to visit GNP finally come true with only one month away from reality!! :GB:

1) Himalaya; with Sierra Madre Occidental & Barranca del Cobre being a close second.

2) 14+'s routinely. All over southern AZ like now for fun in between ;)

Boy that's an easy one.....as for now I'd like to hike anywhere as long as it's alongside one Joe Bartels.
As for 10 years from now I'd like to hike anywhere as long as it's alongside one Joe Bartels....except I hope by then I'll be able to lead instead of follow.

(both above situations would be enhanced if there is the smell of rain in the air and a beautiful rainbow off in the distance)

:) :) :D :) :)

Hmmm. Is this somehow connected with HAZ moving?

Anyway, ten years from now I hope be hiking whereever and whenever I darn well please. Specifics don't matter, as long as it's interesting and uncrowded.

Short term goal: the summit of Mt. Graham, and more Prescott/Payson area. Long term goal: every high mountainous area in the Southwest, and some national parks, like Yosemite and Bryce Canyon. If money was no object, maybe Everest basecamp (I have no interest in summiting :scared: ) .

Still hitting sky islands, mountain forests and remote areas.

In ten years:

I'll be approximately trailing te-wa by 4.6 light years in distance
Wally will be about 17 million feet above me in climbing
Joe will have expired in the black rocks of Woods Canyon about 3.4 years ago :)
and I hope to have finally been able to complete trap canyon and peters canyon end to end, damnit!

Guide NoNot to the trap in Trap Canyon (I am still curious as to whats fallen in there! :scared: ) and spend a moonless night with a clear sky at Circle Stone during the August meteor showers.

Wow. That's a tough one. There is so much I haven't seen in person but fantasized over in books. I would say anywhere my feet can take me. I'm not particular when it comes to destinations just the journey. If my honey and daughter are with me then anyplace is heaven!

But hiking and sea kayaking in the Galapagos would be a dream come true for me! :kf:

The Continental Divide Trail would suffice :) Maybe catch the Grand Enchantment Trail and finish in AZ :)

Navajo Canyon drainage, Inscription House, the full Tsegi Drainage (all currently closed to hikers). The Great North Road out of Chaco. I'm so exciting, aren't I? No real long distance goals. Okay, maybe mountains, caves, and Mayan ruins in Belize again.

I'd like to be doing the hiking I'm doing now in ten years, plus more. More ruins, canyons, cliffs, etc.

If I could hike anywhere without restrictions? I'd probably hike down to the Chevy dealer and get me a brand new 1-ton diesel. Of course, only as long as Joe Bartels is there to ride shotgun. :whistle:
